As a retired HVAC service installer I know A/C units.Do a heat load calculation (sg ft X 30= heat load) this unit will work well in a 200sq ft room or smaller.Haier has a good reputation in the industry and for the bucks$ you can't beat this one. Lots of features, acceptable noise level and easy on the wallet, What more can you ask for??

Haier touts this AC as being "ultra quiet". Maybe they were thinking of the remote?
The air conditioner works wells except for two things.
Sometimes when the unit is started it sounds like a small animal is being tortured inside. This last for five to ten minutes. Otherwise I have not problems sleeping through the fan noise, clicks and pops, and water noise that you hear coming from the machine.
The energy saver mode does not work on my unit. In this mode the air conditioner is suppose to shut off both the compressor and the fan when the set temperature is reached. It then periodically turn on the fan to see if the air requires more cooling. On my unit the fan never turns back on, and the unit needs to be manually restart.
The unit has no problem quickly cooling my bed room on the south side of the house when it is in the 90's to a comfortable temperature/humidity level. The remote is handy. There is no need to get out of bed to make any final adjustments. Be warned though, if your bed is far from the unit you might be guessing at what mode you just set the AC to.

We have double paned metal windows and the support bracket on top of the unit that holds the window itself didn't fit. It wasn't a wide enough bracket. Had to return the unit. No issues with the return process though. Just more of a pain because there was no dimension given for that piece.

I recently brought this air conditioner for my bedroom which is average size (approx 9 x 12) and this air conditioner did very little to cool my room. It took 6 hr to go from 85 degrees to 77 degrees in here. I am so disappointed that i am taking this unit back! Save yourself a headache and get another unit.
