Had it for a month and am very pleased so far July 29, 2010 SharonInNJ If you are looking for an a/c that is going to turn a large space into Antartica, this isn't the a/c for you ... but if you have a mid-sized room and want it nice and cool with low humidity, you will love this a/c. Really does a good job. The sleep mode is great, as are the fan controls. I'm not sure how accurate the temp on the remote is as it always feels quite a bit cooler in here than the remote indicates, but maybe that's because my desk is only a few feet away from the unit. Easy as pie to install, no damage during shipping or delivery.
Great ac for the money July 30, 2010 Tammy S Bocka Loved the ac but Amazon sent us 3 all through UPS & they all arrived crushed. Even tried overnight air & it was crushed in the bottom so the condensor was tilted backward & sounded like a helicopter running. I recommend this ac but don't buy it online go get one yourself & open the box & check every inch of it out before you leave the store. That's what we ended up doing!
Good, but energy saver? July 18, 2010 Smart Shopper 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace a Kenmore which had a mechanical thermostat and as the temp outside cooled, required constant adjustment.
Pros:
Nice fit/finish.
Lots of installation accessories.
Digital thermostat keeps inside temp very stable.
Customer Service tried hard to help.
Cons:
Upon arrival, both thumb vent control shafts were out of their sockets and outside air control would not budge. Both problems required removing the vents.
Energy saving fan mode is bizarre. It cycles the compressor in less than a minute at times, and I can't begin to understand what the fan speed algorithm is. Bottom line is that the energy mode is not practical to use and when not in energy savings mode, the fan alone draws 120-160 watts constantly!
Some nifty features. August 10, 2010 Noahp It does a reasonable job cooling. I have a good sized room and it runs 50% of the time for a 10-15 degree difference. The remote temp sensor is a nice feature, though sometimes it stops working and then the ac doesn't run. You just have to reenable it and it keeps going, but sometimes you don't realize it until you wake up sweating. The ionic air purification is also nice. I use the "sleep" timer during the day when I'm not home. Programmable temperauture settings would have been a nice feature.
Does its job August 9, 2010 M. Bejasa (Forest Hills, NY USA) I like the remote feature; it cools the room fast, pretty strong motor circulates the air quickly.
